- WS-C2960X-48LPS-L Switch Cisco Catalyst 2960X PoE+
The Catalyst WS-C2960X-48LPS-L is a gigabit managed switch with 48 copper ports and four 1G SFP uplink ports.
This switch can be stacked with other 2960X series switches and, interestingly, the older 2960S model using an optional rear-mounted stack module. Such a stack can consist of up to eight switches. CAB-STK-E cables to connect them are available in 50cm, 1m, and 3m options.
The switch has PoE+ functionality on all 48 ports. The PoE budget for this switch is 370 watts.
It is a L2 layer switch and has LAN Base software installed.
This model allows management via the CLI command line as well as via the refreshed GUI Cisco Configuration Professional for Catalyst.
The WS-C2960X-48LPS-L is a high-performance fixed-configuration switch offering 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 4 1G SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) uplink ports. It is a L2 layer access switch and runs on Cisco IOS LAN Base software. It has been designed for long, trouble-free operation and the increased MTBF guarantees continuous operation for more than 30 years. It supports advanced features including Cisco FlexStack-Plus stacking, Cisco Catalyst Smart Operations and Cisco EnergyWise for power management. It also provides enhanced security, scalability and network reliability.
The switch has Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) functionality, an 802.3at standard with a total power budget of 370W. This means it can supply as much as 30 watts per port.
The WS-C2960X-48LPS-L switch has several configuration options that can be customised to meet the specific needs of different network scenarios. Some of these options include:
- Stackability with FlexStack-Plus technology, which allows up to eight switches to be combined into a single logical unit with a stacking capacity of up to 80 Gbps.
- Layer 3 routing elements with a set of, among others, static routing, Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM)
- Security features such as IEEE 802.1X authentication, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) snooping, IP Source Guard and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
- Quality of Service (QoS) features such as classification, tagging, policing, queuing and scheduling.
- Energy-efficient design with Cisco EnergyWise technology, which monitors and controls the power consumption of the switch and connected devices.
Also noteworthy is the device's very low power consumption of 35 watts.
